Grog-Shop Can Release

Grog Shop is a Rye IPA dry-hopped with Centennial and Simcoe (5.5%). This beer is juicy, spicy, and dank with notes of citrus, floral, honey and pine. Brewed with some of the first batches of Organic Rye malted from Blue Ox Malthouse. Grog Shop will be available on draft and in cans.

Named for an insulting phrase that Portland Mayor Neal Dow, the Father of Prohibition, used to describe Brunswick's legislative delegation. Neal Dow was giving a "lecture" at Bowdoin College where he proceeded to not only insult the college but described the entire town as a bacchanalian backwater. The label (and Facebook banner) is a picture of an editorial from the Brunswick Telegraph, published on May 1st, 1885, where the editorial board called out Dow and defended their town.
